Like many new beauty crazes such as the BB cream fad; this new revolution in beauty originates from Asia. However, using silkworm cocoons as part of a skincare routine is nothing new, as women have been using the oil from these cocoons as a moisturiser for hundreds of years. It may sound terribly disgusting but it is the same cocoon that is used to spin silks. So if I wear it on my body why not use it on my face, right? If you look past the fact that it's something made from a worm's saliva glands *ew*, then the benefits of this miracle if not slightly mad product can be phenomenal. They hold the promise to give you brighter, clearer and more glowing skin. Not to mention that they can also reduce wrinkles and scaring. So dare I forgo my man made cleansers and go back to basics using something from mother nature herself? I'm still not so sure. If, however, I can look past the grossness of it then I won't need to venture too far as they are already a top seller on Amazon!
