Last year I found myself picking up many a random product from the drugstore on a (almost) weekly basis, so in an effort to try and limit this addiction I have decided to create a beauty lust list. The intention is that instead of accumulating a huge collection of cheap products that I don't really use, I will instead buy more higher quality products that I actually love. So here are the products I'm currently lusting after.
The Real Techniques Duo Fiber collection: Now I may just be the last beauty lover on the planet yet to venture into Real Techniques territory, as I have always found my eco tools and mac variations good enough. But now it would seem that good is not quite good enough. There has been so much hype around the Real Techniques collection as a whole; but in particular the Duo Fiber collection gained great praise towards the end of the year. I'm a lover of the barely there make up look and these brushes help to give a really light coverage of the products you use, which is my idea of absolute heaven. These babies shall definitely be joining my collection very shortly.
Maybe one of the most talked about products in the beauty bloggersphere last year was the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder. I have stood, stared and drooled over this many a time in Space NK and I am finally going to pluck up the courage to part with my money over this beautiful product. Any product that uses 'luminescent' in its description has to be a sure buy, right? I cannot wait to get my hands on this wonder-cult product.
Now I have never been a massive lover of foundation...any foundation, ever. The only one that I have recently used and remotely liked is the Covergirl Clean Skin foundation, however I'm at the point of violently shaking it to get anything out (and maybe a splattering on the floor/legs) so a new one is in order and since I'm not going stateside anytime soon, a replacement is necessary. Thus I turn to another cult product the Nars Sheer Glow foundation. If it results in a glowy/dewy complexion then count me in, I have pretty dry skin so this should *fingers crossed* work wonders.
I'm trying to stick to a one product from one category rule so next up; blush. This beautiful offering comes from high-end make up genius Kevyn Aucoin Creamy Glow. I always thought I would be perfectly happy with drugstore blush products, until I saw this beauty whilst perusing the counters of Space NK. I tried it out, fell in love and walked away sadly, empty purse in hand (note that purse is often empty due poor student status). However with my new rules I am allowing myself this luxury and at £21.00 it's not that bad...right?
After indulging in the b-e-a-utiful Naked 3 palette, a love of pink/rose gold eye shadows has been ignited. It may take a bit of effort to ensure I avoid looking like I have a serious case of pink eye, but I have absolutely fell in love with this pretty little duo from Nars: Eyeshadow duo in Bouthan. Pink eyeshadow can look so effortlessly chic and with a nudey-pink lip it will look amazing in spring.
For the lipstick front I have gone conventional (read boring) and chosen MAC of course, well if it aint broke...? I am so in love with this shade Pleasure Bomb from the RiRi Hearts collection, it's such a beautiful bright/deep fuchsia a really great shade for winter.
And where will I keep all of these new purchases? Well in my gorgeous new Maptote Makeup Pouch of course! The design is so fun ad it's the perfect size to carry all my new must haves.
The 2014 Lust List will continue with my skincare, style and book lusts still to come.
What's on your beauty lust list for 2014?
